Is your face starting to look like the loft version of Dorian Gray? If there’s anything guaranteed to suck the life out of your skin, it’s winter, Christmas and New Year all rolled into one big fat dehydration party.
Add to that the bonus of an appalling diet of chocolate, Baileys and late nights and it’s no wonder you’re staggering around looking like an exhausted zombie in search of fresh young brains. And men, we’re looking at you too.
But help is at hand, and we’ve done the searching for you. Below are 20 of the loveliest rehydration fixes we’ve tested, for both men and women. Obviously, drink some water, but firstly…
Get some sleep!
According to many studies, sleeping less than six hours per night accelerates premature ageing. Over night is when the cells repair and rejuvenate. In Asia the first three hours of sleep are known as ‘Golden Time’, where the skin works hardest between 11pm and 4am, with a peak in cellular renewal at 1am. Microcirculation increases, the skin is more permeable and more receptive to what you put on it. But magic sleep hormone melatonin is the best remedy, playing an essential role in controlling our biological rhythms. So go to bed!
However, if you’re struggling to get your six-plus hours, there’s always Filorga…
