Silver Magazine: rebrand, redesign, relaunch

Issues of Silver Magazine on show - www.silvermagazine.co.uk

Time for a change

Ten years is a long time in publishing. When we first launched Silver Magazine back in February 2016, the world looked very different. Social media was still fun, print was being written off for what felt like the hundredth time, and nobody had heard of TikTok. We were market leaders in the fight back against ageism and patronising publishing, and we are still are.

We launched as a digital magazine online, then in 2020 moved towards producing print issues. Got hit by the nightmares of Brexit’s supply chains, and the pandemic’s challenges, and went digital again. Pivoted more times than a drunk ballet dancer, over the years. And somehow, we are still here.

Bit of fun history here – the video we made all the way back in 2018, ahead of print launch, is posted at the bottom – this feels like a lifetime ago!!

Now, as the magazine enters its second decade, the time feels right for a fresh chapter

Through all of that, Silver has continued to tell interesting stories, celebrate fascinating people and prove that life doesn’t become less exciting as the years go by. We’ve also got a wicked sense of humour, and we’re not afraid to delve into the dark side of life.

We also support positive ageing – the way you want to do it. Enough with the pressure. You do you, as the kids say. That will always be central to our approach. And we will always celebrate your midlife coming of age. Because it’s a massive new chapter for everyone.

This September, Silver Magazine will relaunch with a completely new look and feel

Readers can expect a new format, a new shape and a more premium design that reflects how the magazine has evolved over the past ten years.

While the appearance may be changing, the heart of Silver remains exactly the same.

The magazine will continue to feature the interviews, real people, travel stories, lifestyle features, culture, food, wellbeing and thought-provoking content that readers have come to expect from us. It will still be fiercely independent, mischievous and absolutely non-judgemental.

What is changing is the tactile experience

Print is back. And it’s not just us saying this – it’s sweeping the board right now, as everyone tires of doom-scrolling, and AI slop.

The new Silver Magazine is designed as something to keep. A magazine that earns its place on a coffee table. Something you can dip into, return to weeks later, and be proud collect. In an age of endless scrolling, there is something life-affirming and restorative about sitting down with a beautifully produced magazine and giving a story your full attention.

Print has always offered a different kind of experience. It slows things down. It allows people to immerse in the experience without notifications, endless hideous ads and noise, or distractions. As people increasingly  seek quality over quantity in the media they consume again, we believe there’s never been a better time to invest in that experience.

The redesign is not about changing who we are. It’s just time to zhuzh things up a bit again, and offer something that we know people love: beautiful, quality independent publishing.

We have such a rich history. We are enormously proud of the stories we’ve told, the people we’ve met, and the community that has grown around the Silver name.

The new Silver Magazine launches in September 2026. Can’t wait to share it with you.
